Wynn  Pennington has been crafting blends for himself and others since 1998. He creates his blends at established wineries with extra wine not used by the chosen winery. He travels extensively throughout the vineyards of the world, tasting thousands of wines a year, searching for only those wines that offer the highest quality and represent the best value for that price category.
 
Wynn has 23 years experience in the wine business. He is an award winning sommelier(currently preparing for the advanced level of the Master of Sommelier program), judges for wine competitions, and has conducted numerous wine seminars for wine festivals, wine wholesalers, and private groups (e.g. Ernst and Young, Arthur/Anderson, Mckesson Pharmaceuticals, etc.). He has taught wine classes, and is active in many tasting groups around the country.
 
Most of his career has been on the wholesale side of the business as a Fine Wine Specialist, Brand Manager, or Distributor owner. This has allowed him to work closely with some of the greatest importers and producers in the world, e.g. Kermit Lynch, Europvin, Eric Solomon, Becky Wasserman, Neil Empson, Neil Rosenthal, Demaison Selections, Hand Picked Selections, to name just a few.
 
The high standards established by these importers and their producers are an integral part of Wynn’s search for Motovino wines. Vineyards cropped to low yields, light or no filtration of the wine, and temperature controlled shipping are fundamental. He utilizes established wineries with high quality track records only. He does not buy “in bulk” from several wineries, and blend. He chooses not to blend other properties together- to maintain a sense of place, or “Terroir”. This is the criteria for a wine to become a Motovino/ Wynn B. Pennington Selection.
