Wishes is a line of high quality French varietal wines from the VDP Cotes de Thongue. The Cotes de Thongue lies about thirty minutes due north of Beziers encompassing the hills bordering both sides of the river Thongue. This area has been producing some of the greatest wines in the Languedoc for years. Millions of dollars have been invested in the past 10 years and the quality of the wines has never been better. New ventures by high-profile producers such as Domaine Magellan, by Bruno Lafon, at Comte Lafon, in Burgundy, attest to the quality and reputation of this area.

One of the tried and true stars of the region is the co-op in the town of Alignan du Vent, in the northeast corner of the region. Here there are varied soil types, enabling the co-op to grow specific varieties in specific soils with favorable microclimatic conditions. The whites are grown on chalky marl, the reds on gravelly loam and clay. The yields are kept very low; 1-2 tons per acre. All aspects of high quality, modern winemaking are utilized. Everything about this co-op is geared to the production of the finest wine.
